System tags are a flexible way to track and report against BriteCore data.

Core Concepts

Tag Types

A standard reference to a set of information, such as policy types, sublines, line items, or line item categories. Within BriteCore, tags fall into either the system tag or custom tag category.

System Tag

A hard-coded tag within BriteCore created for a specific case, such as vendor integration. Those with database access may also view the complete list by running

#SELECT * FROM system_tags WHERE TYPE !='custom' ORDER BY type, name

Custom Tag

A tag created by a user. Those with database access may view a list of your site's custom tags by running

#SELECT * FROM system_tags WHERE TYPE ='custom' ORDER BY type, name

Tag Scope

Tags can be applied to the following:
Claims

  • A claim

Contacts

  • A contact

Lines

  • A line of business
  • A policy type
  • A Subline
  • A line item
  • A line item category
  • A supplemental question
  • A supplemental question option

Policies

Reporting

System tags can be referenced in BriteData for various reporting needs using the applicable tag data point. For example, the data point Claim System Tags would reference any tags scoped to Claims.
